Shift_obsession
From
as far back as I can remember, I've always had a love for
cars. My dad would tinker with his car and show me the ins
and outs when I was younger. When it came time for me to get
a car, I was more than excited because now I had something
to tinker with. Of course looking back, my first car (1979
Ford Fairmont) wasn't the coolest ride in town, but it sure
seemed like it to me at the time, even with it's one hubcap.
I've
always been labeled as sort of a unique dog because I march
to the beat of my own drum, literally. I've been a drummer
for a little over 22 years now and was even in a few garage
bands back in the early 90's. Most of music I play and enjoy
listening to is heavy metal, hard rock, alternative, progressive
metal and some pop rock. I even have my own online radio station
that broadcasts various genres of music so there's a little
something for everyone! NEUF
Radio.
In
addition to my love for cars, drums and music, I love creative
things like drawing, painting, writing, tattoos and even building
Halloween props. For 16 years, I've featured a special Halloween
display in my front yard to scare the pants off the little
children, and adults, in the neighborhood. I handmade the
majority of the props and usually start preparing ideas around
February, believe it or not. Some photos can be found here.
As
for my Z obsession, it began on December 14th, 2002. I got
to the dealership to pick her up but she hadn't arrived yet.
I waited about an hour and paced back and forth by the front
window waiting for her to round the corner. Suddenly, there
she was, on the back of a flatbed. My jaw hung open, my gaze
turned into an infatuated stare and I just about melted. They
cleaned her all up and I went outside to drive her home. It
was heaven, pure heaven. I knew right then and there this
car had power beyond what lay beneath the hood.
In
July 2003 I attended the 350z/G35 meet in Connecticut and
had goosebumps for days thinking of all those beautiful Zs
swarmed around in one place. And the Z cruises I've been on
give you an incredible sense of pride. Just looking in front
and in back of you seeing those Zs puts the widest smile on
your face it almost hurts. And when you pass by the lookie-loos
checking the cars out as you drive past, the smile gets even
wider!
I
can't even begin to tell you how much I LOVE this car! Many
don't understand my obsession. So my office cube is decorated
with Z posters and Z models. So I park out in left field but
try and grab the space in the corner so I can still keep an
eye on it from the window. So I refer to it as if it were
a child I'd given birth to. So I had Christmas cards made
up with her photo on them. So what if I'm obsessed with my
Z. Those that don't understand are just jealous.
